Volunteers Are Crucial to our Mission

VVWP Could not Exist Without Volunteers!

The Veterans Voices Writing Project (VVWP) has been helping veterans since 1946. Volunteers serve as writing aides in to help veterans express their thoughts and feelings through words, other volunteers may type manuscripts for writers. Some serve as writing group leaders where veterans can come together for critiques, share their stories and know that they are not alone. Some serve as VA Voluntary Service committee members to represent the VVWP. Other volunteers serve on the VVWP Board of Directors. Others are Veterans’ Voices champions who help organize fundraisers to spread the word about our valuable work. The magazine, Veterans’ Voices, is edited by professional writers and proofreaders who are volunteers. Without the dedication of our wonderful volunteers, Veterans’ Voices could not continue to exist as it has since 1952!
