Loneliness
By Kathryn MacRae - Downey, Illinois
Loneliness is like a well;
You look down into its depths
And see only yourself.
Oh, to be able to look up
Into the heavens
And see God -—
The giver of life.
Can loneliness be shared
As one shares a sunset
Or the winter-bared boughs of a tree?
Through sharing,
Can contentment be found
With a double reflection
In the well?
