Holiday Prayer
By Orval Dowell - VA Knoxville, Iowa
Give to the world the light to see
The wisdom of thy ways;
Grant them to see the path
That leads to brighter days.
Lighten the load of weary souls,
This is our earnest prayer;
Lift from the hearts of troubled men
The shackles of despair.
Out of the warmth of bundles of love,
Touch every tribe and clan;
Bring to this weary, war-torn world
The fellowship of man.
Help us to shape our errant lives
To the pattern of Thy will;
Into our hearts and minds and souls,
The love of God instill.
