Aloha Oahu

By - VA Punta Gorda, Florida

When it’s sunrise on the Pali,
The air is sweet and clean.
And morning rays are glistening
On “apples of pines” so green.
The gem-like dew is sparkling
On papaya trees and grass.
And breath of dawn is stealing,
Through old Nuuanu Pass.

Then with dawn, behold! A tableau,
None fairer can there be.
From Diamond Head to Punchbowl,
To Waikiki by the sea.
Where foam-tipped waves are dancing,
On coral-strewn sand.
And royal palms with emerald fronds,
Beckon to that fabled strand.
