Adventure in Nature’s Wonderland

By - VA Westfield, Massachusetts

One has only to go to the rural communities to find the wonders of nature: the farms in the country with the cattle grazing in the meadows.  In the barnyards chickens and ducks busying themselves in their daily duties; gardens, areas of corn, potatoes and other vegetables growing to the harvest are a beautiful sight to behold. The woodlands are there with their bountiful array of trees consisting of spruce, hemlock, pine, walnut, oak and many other varieties growing to attain their maturity. The brooks find their way to the rivers filled with trout, bass, perch and many other species of fish. The birds, rabbits, foxes, deer, woodchucks and all other kinds of wild life fight there for their existence where survival of the fittest still reigns.

The country fresh air is filled with the spirit of God’s way of life. The smell of spruce and pine fills the air with a sweet aroma. The free relaxed feeling of being away from the hustle bustle of the city, where time doesn’t really matter. The open ponds and lakes and rivers where one feels the desire to go in for a swim or to row a boat or paddle a canoe on the pond.

The quiet of the country with only the rustle of the leaves in the breeze, the running of the water through shady spots of the forest gives one the feeling of complete relaxation and restfulness, putting all worldly problems behind. One really enjoys the beauty of living, the American way of life.
