I had to allow myself both a title and a subtitle so I can take a look at two phenomena that I don’t think are adequately discussed or perhaps understood. First and foremost, the Old Order is being challenged. We know it’s happening and we wring our hands over increased crime and other byproducts of the Woke belief structure. We know it seems that bad guys go to jail for a cup of coffee and then are released, back on the street to terrorize us. We know that we have ceased to be a sovereign country since our southern and even our northern borders acting as a revolving door. Probably greatly exaggerated, but that’s what we’re told. And we forget that one of the most abused borders is the air. In fiscal 2020, JUST ONE YEAR, 584,885 foreigners have flown into the US and overstayed their visas, up from 2019’s total of 497,272. One can only imagine what more current statistics would provide, since foreigners see their peers flying to Central America and invading the US. Of the millions of illegals who have invaded our country, apparently a very small percentage were vetted for disease, criminal record and citizenship status. We hear stories of homeless veterans being thrown out of New York’s Hotel Roosevelt to make room for illegals. Elementary school children are deprived of gym and recess because the city has chosen to warehouse the illegals who come by the droves, only to be stuffed into school gyms. That’s one barrel, millions of people invading our country. Unskilled? Terrorist? Smuggling drugs? I don’t think we know for sure. The other barrel is the makeup of our population in general. And that leads us to a major tipping point. American society is turning from 90+% ‘white’ to various shades of brown, but not truly black. Okay, black too. By 2050, or probably much sooner, ‘white’ people (don’t know about you, but my skin is orange) will be in the minority, not as large as the percentage of blacks and Hispanics, but when all the non-white population is added up, we get the fuzzy end of the lollipop. Does it/should it bother us? Yes and no, respectively. Truth be told, if we didn’t receive non-whites from all corners of the world, our population wouldn’t be growing. We Caucasians have long since ceased to replace ourselves. So that baby that we didn’t have but would have named Josh may be a newcomer named Pedro. Our institutions that we’ve relied on all our lives will be changed dramatically. Our churches, as an example, are challenged to recognize and attract new congregants even as the old ones are walking away from established religion of literally dying off. Wholesale companies and their retail outlets are or will be forced to change their product offerings to suit new Americans. The town from which I just moved, Elgin, was required many years ago to hire a Cambodian outreach officer. Why? Because the lard Mung population assumed that if they were pulled over by a policeman, he would shoot them. I can imagine other public safety departments being required to make Spanish, Portuguese, Urdu, and Farsi speaking officers to handle populations who refuse to assimilate by learning our language. That’s a topic for another essay. And there are ancillary issues that will reshape the US status quo. Contemporaneous with the browning and blackening of our population, we’re told we must bend over backwards for transexuals just as we did for gays decades ago. Special ‘rights’ for what were the margins of society. Lauterback’s Law dictates that groups seeking broader recognition and protection ask for more than they ever expect to get, get it, and then go on to cajole most of the population that to disrespect protected classes is to expose oneself as a truly worthless human being. It’s the tyranny of the minority. But it has its own tipping point, much like race and ethnicity of our population does. No sentient person thinks that if I got several thousand males in my town to identify as female that we would achieve an overwhelming female lobbying force or voting block. But the Wokesters apparently believe it. A topic for a future essay. But the aforementioned majority is slipping away. It’s called a tipping point because the balance is shifting rapidly. Our descendants will grow up much more likely to play with, work with and party with members of other racial or ethnic groups. It’s a function of the tipping point. Whites lose representation; everyone else takes advantage of it. And it is almost impossible to reverse the trend because white Americans and generational minority groups have not replaced themselves with live births. So, we’ll be swamped. I probably should have avoided the ‘both barrels’ in the title. The phenomena are a mixed bag of damage to the country and absorbing hard-working immigrants, much like most of our ancestors. So perhaps there’s a positive barrel and a negative counterpart. But the good doesn’t come without some bad. Lessons in tolerance, brotherhood and peacefulness are in order. But one thing is immutable. The pendulum is swinging in a different way than most of us are used to. Picture to Foucault Pendulum in the Museum of Science and History. How would you like to jump over the rail and try to grab it and cause it to swing in another direction? Probably not. That pendulum keeps swinging, and the tipping points keep changing. And change is just what it adds up to.
