As the winter of my life draws near,
I look back to see the path I have taken
and count my meandering footprints
in the sands of a long, winding road.
With no clues as to my future,
fate slips me into the dark uncertainty
of the absolute destiny of all men.
I pray to find the home that I lost along the way
where the promises of a better life
are said to be true.
