The Red The White & The Blue By: Lawrence W Langman (c) We've walked through sands mires, and muck. Blisters from heat or boots that sucked stuck. We gluttoned for punishment looking for fights. Standing for freedoms of unwavering rights. Away from our homes alone and naive. Silenced suppressed and so scared we can't breathe. Sounds that surround no peace for the weary. Hearts torn asunder from tears beheld eerie. We charged towards bullets in a fiery rage. As history looks back towards those days on a page. Those stars and those stripes for all that has bled. Those walking upright yet came home and felt dead. So all of you patriots around raise up your glass. Let's honor this nation and for all we've outlast. Let the pounding of heartbeats thunderous sounds. Echo the heavens above from states, cities, and towns. Hold on to your loved ones and shed a few tears. For the cost of this nation as you're lifting that beer!
