Thou I know you’re just passing time

Makes me think back to yesterday

When you were still mine



But was it just the other day

When our boys were small

We would take them to chucky cheese

And then a trip to the mall



You spent as much time as you could

Of course the Army had other plans

Your TA 50 was always spot on

akwTs ready for your deployments to other lands



your knee caps had both b een dislocated

gun powder blew up in your face

your ankles had both been broken

once healed you wouldn’t hesitate to take on a race



a picture of health and fitness

no one would ever know

that your deployment to the desert

would destroy your health and make you old



and now what hurts the most

my youngest whom was 13 when you died

you’ve been dead now 13 years

he and his brother have been without you-as long as you were alive….
