The bones of a horse
Are plenty not a few
As the backbone of America
Grew and grew

Mules are steady
This is true
But a horse is a warrior
Thru and thru 

Just as the soldiers
Lay on the battlefield
A horse stood by its soldier
Even acting as a shield

Cincinnati was one such stead
Carrying general grant
Cincinnati was present
at the surrender of general lee
The union overriding the confederate 

Cincinnati resided at the White House
When General Grant became president
General/ President Grant and his beloved stead was inseparable 
Until old age became evident

So here’s to Cincinnati
A horse gifted from above
Cincinnati was a gift
From the lord almighty above 


	•	Cincinnati eventually was sent to General Grant’s farm and lived out his life until he passed in 1878.
	•	Only three men was  allowed to ride Cincinnati - General Grant, President Abraham Lincoln and one of General Grant’s childhood friend’s.
