I had no idea 
That I had a hole blown in my head 
Until I finally got in my fox hole
The Lord’s Prayer I said

A soldier walked by 
Looked me up and down
Told me I should say a prayer
Because I was almost heaven bound 

I lived to see another day
And I  survived the war
On the western front 
December 1944…..
