People say, “It’s my life, let me live it the way I want,” but when you get straight down to it , you’re borrowing it from the man upstairs. Plus you have the freedom to do so paid for by our Country’s Armed Forces, Who selflessly put their live on the line so that they can give our nation freedom and liberty. Look up at it flying in all its simple glory-taking over our skies. Just a few long red and white stripes and a blue star for every state…that’s our FLAG! It’s a great symbol of how far we came and where we all stand today, It represents freedom for everyone who are part of this great nation. It’s a canopy under which our honored heroes return from war whom paid the ultimate price. It’s a beacon of hope for those who will return back home to the land of the free. I salute your bravery and the sacrifices each and every one of you have and are making for us all. It’s your courage that I see every time I see the might stars stripes flying. I refuse to take for granted my brothers and sisters who’ve died or those who have given their all for peace so that “I may live this life.” I struggle to understand and forgive the people who tread on and burn our flag, and let’s not forget about the role models who refuse to stand and show respect to our nation’s flag. They surely must be blind to the knowledge that is the shadow of death of many which passes them the right to do so…in some other country you would be sentenced to death for commmiting such an act…again a soldier who fought for freedom saved your life!!! Being an American is such an honor to me. It’s a privilege to live in this nation and to have served in our country’s U.S. Army. How does something standing for so much ripple so easily in the breeze? By every fallen soldier’s last breath blowing and protecting it. Yes, I’ll be a Proud American until my very last twilight, When the colors are gently draping my casket and the rifle’s blare. And our flag gently folded and handed to my eldest son. May God always bless the U.S.A. Happy 4th of July
