U.S. Army Airborne, Infantry, on his way to Italy.

I’ve been there a few decades ago

Now I have memories in the snow.

He’ll have the time of his life.

May go to Sicily and get a wife.

My relative, Florence, was an Italian war bride.

Married Morris, they had farm-pride.

May you be safe, honorable soldier.

You’re leaving before it gets colder.
