Set me up underneath an old oak tree
Hand me  a gun - 8 bullets and leave me be 
When you return- I  won’t be alive 
You’ll find 8 japs shot between the eyes

           SGT Thomas Alexander Baker

105th infantry regiment 
On the isle of Saipon
SGT Baker  was seriously injured 
when fired upon 

he and he alone
Armed with a bazooka showing no fear
Attacking a stronghold of Japanese 
Saving his company of soldiers whom were in the rear 

As SGT Baker was being carried to safety 
His comrade was hit
SGT Baker chose to be left 
handed a m1911 pistol 8 bullets -non spent 

So calmly he faced his enemy 
Knowing his own fate
SGT Baker was a hero 
dying he did that day

 they found him still sitting 
as he was left 
Around him lay 8 Japanese soldiers 
All filled with hot lead 

Medal of Honor Recipient 
They don’t make them like this anymore 
Disregarding his own safety
  His selfless acts of heroism saved American soldiers lives during the war….
