Do you remember your first car
You worked so hard to get? 
It was the last year of high school for me, too. 
Mine was red and blue; you said yours was, too. 
Oh, what fun we had with all our friends
On a Friday night, looking for a drive-in movie.
Yes, we were loud and throwing popcorn,
But when the movie started, we got quiet.
We really liked those cartoons. 
Oh, we were so young, but we had fun. 
And now a new day has begun.
It’s hard for me to give my car keys to my son 
That he might enjoy his friends on a Friday night.
I’m looking for his first car now 
So that he might enjoy his first ride in his own car.
