The Void

                                                 Within the darkness
                                                 the void survives.
                                                 It's shadows creep
                                                 as it's alive.

                                                 Without a heartbeat
                                                 it still draws breath.
                                                 Forever pining away
                                                 in death.

                                                 Who so ever hides
                                                 behind the veil.
                                                 Dancing into the twilight
                                                 where sanity prevails.

                                                 Darkness hides the bliss
                                                 beneath the shallows.
                                                 Marching our dammed
                                                 souls to the gallows.

                                                 Hallowed are the hearts
                                                 no longer beating.
                                                 Songs forever called out
                                                 forever fleeting.

                                                 High up in the heavens
                                                 dreams are fading.
                                                 Tears of our fallen
                                                 now cascading.

                                                 Unto the heroes
                                                 that once upheld.
                                                 Teaching our children
                                                 how we excelled.

                                                 As we allow darkness
                                                 to fade to black.
                                                 Gaze into the void and
                                                 the abyss shall attack
                                                       you back.
