The Gates of Nothingness

By Ben Hawkins, Army

Writing Type: Poem

By Ben Hawkins

If life was born out of a random chance event,

not God’s revolt against nothingness,

life may be without meaning,

unplanned, unmanageable and not understandable.

A life where God is only a convenience word,

a word to drag in when explaining gets difficult

and excuses, not answers, are more convenient.

A life without support at the gates of nothingness.
