Highway

Writing Type: Poem

By Anthony Kambeitz

VA Medical Center--Albany, NY

Now I’ve been so many places

Places in time

Like choosing between lemon or lime.

The trouble with you

Is the trouble with me.

You’ve got two good eyes

But you still don’t see!

There are so many things

That feel so nice,

But ask yourself

Can you really afford the price?

North

South

East

West

Right now New York feels the best,

Best to me

So it seems.

Happiness fills my latest dreams.

No need to head to the 7-Eleven,

I’m on the highway,

The “Highway to Heaven!”
