THE BOOK

By Mark Cooney, Army

Writing Type: Poem

Life is like any fable with its happy endings.
This is my life for the lending.
What did you say? You're not finished yet,
only half the way! And the pages are all stuck
together at the best part.
They are torn and dog-eared at the worst parts.
The letters and words are all smeared.
They're all wet and damp with drops of tears.
Open me up! And turn my pages and have a
good long look.
Don't stop till you finish the whole book.
